Cats and dogs
A good picture of an animal always elicits emotions from the viewer. Photographing animals is more difficult than photographing humans. Here are my attempts from recent times. No flying dogs though.
A pet photographer is one of the things I am not. I do not spend time trying to get the optimal angle or posture from a pet that belongs to us or friends.
But: getting a good photo of an animal is good exercise. It requires some technique and speed. Sometimes you need to go low for the right angle.
Taking a decent shot of a docile pet, a dog or a cat, is the easiest. This gallery sums up my attempts at this in recent times. But there are other animals in my "portfolio". For example, look out for an up and coming "Urban birds" post.
A good pet photo is also something you can flaunt. It helps you get noticed as a photographer. Legend has it that internet users spend the most time looking at cat and dog videos and photos. So here's a gallery to lock you in.
About the galleries: All the photos have been taken by me, using a Canon EOS D or EOS RP camera. None of the photos were edited or modified, except for the occasional straightening when my clumsy hands made the image slanted.
